This page contains all you need to know about alcoves and our fitted wardrobes.
We can fit individual alcove wardrobes or a full width wardrobe which will cover both alcoves and the chimney breast. We have illustrated both options below.
Taken from a recent installation, the room dimensions are: Left Alcove: 1635mm, Right Alcove: 880mm and the Chimney Breast is 1300mm Wide x 350mm Deep. The overall width of this room is 3815mm.
Although not essential, the minimum opening width that we recommend for our sliding doors is 1000mm (1 metre). As the right alcove in this room is under 1000mm, we have built over the chimney breast to increase the opening width.
As with all of our wardrobes, the minimum overall depth is 600mm from the back wall.

Our full width alcove wardrobes span the full width of the room. This usually allows for some shallow shelving storage over the chimney breast area.
