FAQ and Blog

We have an FAQ page for answers to our frequently asked questions and a Blog page. Both pages are updated regularly. We hope you find this information helpful. If you have any questions, we would love to hear from you.

Do fitted wardrobes sit on carpet?

In the large majority of installations, we can install our wardrobes over your carpet. If you are having new carpet, or any new flooring fitted, we generally advise waiting until after the wardrobe is installed. This is particularly important with floating floors, which usually require an expansion gap.

We will always check everything and advise you during our design and survey visit.

Do you remove skirting for fitted wardrobes?

Skirting boards are usually left in place when we fit our wardrobes. We may need to cut and remove small sections of skirting board which will then be concealed by our new framework.

Do you remove coving for fitted wardrobes?

We usually do not need to remove your coving when we install our wardrobes. We may cut and remove the small areas where our framework meets the ceiling. The end result is a very neat finish. If you have ornate plaster coving, we will usually scribe our new panels around it, making no cuts to the coving.

Should we decorate before or after fitted wardrobes?

We generally advise that you should decorate after we install your fitted wardrobe. If your new wardrobe will be unlined (fitted without a back, top or base panel) then decorating the wardrobe area in advance of your wardrobe installation is generally a good idea. As with everything we do, we will advise you when we visit your home.

How much do fitted wardrobes cost?

The cost of a fitted wardrobe will depend on many factors, including the style, the finish, and your wardrobe interior requirements. As all of our wardrobe designs are unique, we are unable to provide a price list.

Our design and quoting system includes a free/ no obligation guide quote, followed by a home visit before you place an order with us.

All the information you require to receive a guide quote from us can be found on our Design and Quote page.

We do not offer low budget wardrobe options and there will be cheaper alternatives to our bespoke, made-to-measure fitted wardrobes. Our aim is to provide you with a great quality wardrobe at a realistic cost.

Please note that we are not salespeople and we will always allow you as much time and space as you need before you make any decisions. As always, if you require any help, you can contact us at any time.

Wardrobe layout ideas

Before you decide on your ideal wardrobe layout and finish, we can provide you with many ideas. Every wardrobe we design and install is unique. For guide quotes and a foundation to build ideas on, we have a selection of fitted wardrobe layout ideas to help you get started. We can also show you actual material samples of our finishes in your own home.

We design our wardrobes with great care and attention to detail. We can adapt our designs until they are perfect for your storage requirements and day-to-day use.

Fitted Wardrobe Interiors

We have a range of wardrobe interior options to make practical and effective use of your wardrobe space. We have shelving, drawer and rail options to utilise and maximise all areas of your wardrobe. Every customers’ needs are different and we listen very carefully to your specific storage requirements and preferences before we start designing your wardrobe.

It’s important that a well organised wardrobe interior can withstand daily usage over the test of time. For this reason all of our wardrobe interiors are constructed from solid units and panels.

Fitted Wardrobe Designs

Every great project starts with well-thought-out designs and a site survey. Using the latest CAD design software, along with more traditional pencil and paper techniques, we plan every project with great care and accuracy.

How much value do fitted wardrobes add to a house?

This is most definitely a frequently asked question. The first thing to say is that we are not property selling experts and that the points we have included here are just our views on this subject. We recommend speaking to at least one local estate agent before you make a decision.

Having done our own research, we have seen search results claiming that a fitted wardrobe will add an unrealistic (to us) amount to your property's value. Hopefully our succinct advice will help you. Please remember that we do not apply any high pressure sales tactics or give unethical advice in the hope of making a financial profit.

  • Along with any built-in furniture, fitted wardrobes may add some value to your property if installed to a high standard.
  • If you are fully developing a property to sell it as an investment, a fitted wardrobe should be on your to-do list. We recommend keeping your choices neutral. Creative ideas are often very personal and will probably not appeal to everyone.
  • If you are selling a house that will need a lot of updating by the new owners, we do not recommend installing a fitted wardrobe or any other fitted furniture in an attempt to increase its value.
  • If you already have a fitted a wardrobe, a makeover may be a better option for you.

Fitted Wardrobe Drawers

Wardrobe drawers are a great way to keep your clothes tidy and easily accessible within your wardrobe. If you would like drawers inside your wardrobe, we have many options to consider, with additional top shelving and hanging options. We can also build you completely bespoke drawers from our workshop.

Drawers need to be carefully placed into our designs to clear any framework or door overlaps.

We also have a range of free standing chests of drawers.

Fitted Wardrobe Doors

We have a large range of made-to-measure, sliding wardrobe doors, all manufactured in the UK. Our website includes a large part of our range on our Sliding Doors page.

We have material samples of all of our panel and frame finishes to show you.

Along with our choice of Panel Finishes, Panel Configuration Styles and Frame Options are also shown. We go through the options in much more detail when we meet you.
